The First Company Governor's
Foot Guard Officers Staff is led by Chief of Staff Captain Roger Conley.
The staff is comprised of former active line officers, officers who are
active on Military Form 1-1, per State of Connecticut Military Statutes
and officers who hold either associate,
life, honorary status as well as former Majors Commandant.
The main function of the
Officer Staff are as follows:
- Governor's Inaugural
Ball - planning and executing the parade and ball.
Contrary to popular belief, this institution is run and organized by
the Officer Staff of the First Company, and is held at zero expense to
the taxpayers of the State of Connecticut.
- Recruiting -
expanding qualified members
- Historical -
informing the general public and schools as to the history of the Foot
Guard dating back to its founding in 1771
- Quartermaster -
distributing and procuring various uniforms, equipment and medals
required for camp, parades and drills
- Dog Show -
planning and executing the annual A.K.C. Dog Show Obedience Trial and
- Armory Committee
- Managing the upkeep of the exterior and interior of our historic
- Kitchen Committee
- Cooking at various functions and our annual encampment
- Financial Committee -
controlling billings to members, paying invoices, managing accounts
payable and accounts receivable
- Scholarship Committee
- overseeing the awarding of scholarships annually to high school and
